Targeted Bio-Identical Hormone Balancing
Targeted Hormone Balancing Therapy is at the heart of a holistic approach toward the human body and its ever-changing needs. In a world where a high-pressure lifestyle is the norm, and where our natural hormonal balance is affected by aging, by stress, and by harmful man-made toxins, Targeted Hormone Therapy offers a medically effective, comprehensive and customized solution for restoring each patient to optimum health.
Targeted Bio-Identical Hormone Balancing:
  • Is a personalized therapy that encompasses the entire person.
  • Considers the effects of age, diet, lifestyle, stress, family history and other factors on the health of the individual.
  • Designs a treatment plan that is tailored to the individual needs of each Patient.
  • Balances by determining a person's unique hormone profile and then adds what is missing and reduces what is in excess.
  • Prescribes only what the Patient needs in the lowest required dose.
  • Prescribes Bio-Identical hormones that are exact replicas of the hormones in the human body.
  • Utilizes the medication delivery methods that are best tolerated by the patient and that produce the best outcome.
  • Treats the underlying cause of the symptom rather than just the symptom itself.
  • Creates a partnership between Patient and Practitioner by obtaining frequent feedback, encouraging patient compliance and making adjustments to the treatment plan over time as required.
  • Creates a knowledgeable Patient by providing educational materials and giving thorough explanations.

F.D.A. gives approval to treat hot flashes with an anti-depressant, but it's effectiveness is questionable. Read: F.D.A. Approves a Drug for Hot Flashes
This article reports that the FDA has approved the marketing of the anti-depressant "Brisdelle" to 24 million menopausal women who suffer moderate to severe hot flashes.

Seriously?

The FDA has approved the use of this anti-depressant drug despite it's very underwhelming efficacy. At the beginning of the study the women reported a median of 10 hot flash episodes per day. One group was given "Brisdelle" and another group a placebo. After 12 weeks, the placebo group reported 4 or 5 less episodes per day. The group taking the drug reported 6 less episodes per day.

Whether they took the drug or not, these women were still suffering with 4 to 5 hot flash episodes per day. It hardly seems worth the expense of taking this drug to get a reduction of just 1 hot flash episode per day compared to the placebo group. Worse yet, the drug carries a strong warning that the drug can increase suicidal thoughts or behavior!

The article observes that sales of Premarin and Prempro (conjugated estrogens and progestin derived from the urine of pregnant horses) decreased sharply after a 2002 study suggested that they could could increase the risk of cardiovascular problems and cancer. As sales of these drugs have decreased, drug companies are searching for patentable alternatives to sell into this sizable market of 24 million women.

The bottom line: If you are a woman suffering with hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms then you already have an effective treatment available: Bio-Identical Hormones.

There are millions of women who are free of hot flashes thanks to Bio-Identical Estrogens and Progesterone. Don't let your doctor prescribe anti-depressants. Insist on Targeted Bio-Identical Hormone Balancing Therapy so that you can get your life back into balance!
